In November 2010 the Home Secretary announced a review of the entire Prevent strategy, to be independently overseen by Lord Carlile of Berriew and part of which involved a public consultation. The full review was presented to Parliament on 7 June 2011 and sets out a new Prevent strategy for the Government. More
Prevent Inquiry

In July 2009, The Communities and Local Government Committee of the House of Commons called an inquiry into 'Prevent', the Government's programme for preventing violent extremism. The Committee set out to consider the effectiveness of the 'Prevent' programme under the scope of the CLG to date, and set out questions concerning the Government’s analysis, approach and communications regarding violent extremism. Queen's Speech

The Queen's Speech is delivered from the Throne in the House of Lords, in the presence of Members of both Houses. Although the Queen reads the Speech, the content is entirely drawn up by the Government and approved by the Cabinet.
